You forget, and you have built an entire personality around apologising for it.
The mental plane is empty — no 3, no 6, no 9. Retention is not automatic for you the way it appears to be for everyone else. This says nothing whatsoever about your intelligence; it describes one specific mechanism that other charts get for free.
The entire mental row, unoccupied. Because the rows sit inside a single plane, this is not a broken circuit but an empty floor: memory, imagination and ambition have no cell holding them up. It is also the most misread line in the system, because an empty plane is routinely mistaken by its owner for a verdict on their intelligence. It is not one — plenty of formidable minds are built on this row.
It shows up as an uneven surface rather than a general fog. You will hold a complex argument perfectly and lose the name of the person who made it. What goes missing is arbitrary and it is rarely the important part, which is precisely why you keep being caught out — nothing warns you which items were not stored.
The real damage is social, not practical. Forgetting a task costs an hour; forgetting what someone told you costs their sense of mattering to you, and no amount of explaining the mechanism repairs that in the moment. People with this line tend to build an entire apologetic manner around it long before they think to build a system instead.
What to do about it
Stop relying on your head. Write it down, every time, without deciding first whether this one is important enough. Externalise it and the deficit disappears entirely.
