The Arrow of Procrastination
You already know. You have known for years. That is rather the point.
The line from 1 through 5 to 9 is empty. Nothing carries an intention from self, through feeling, to ambition, so intentions stall in the gap. It is not laziness — you often want the thing badly. The transmission is simply missing.
This is the same line that, full, gives Determination — the circuit from the physical plane at 1, through the soul at 5, to the mental at 9. Empty, the circuit does not exist. The wanting is intact and the capability is usually intact; what is missing is the thing that carries one to the other. That is why effort applied at either end changes nothing.
It shows up as a specific and familiar sequence: genuine intention, a plan you believe in, and then a gap where the starting should have been. You are not avoiding the task — ask you about it and you will describe it accurately and with feeling. The failure is not of desire and it is not of understanding, which is exactly why advice about motivation has never once helped you.
Its real cost is not the undone thing. It is the decades of private evidence that you are unreliable, accumulated from the inside where nobody can contradict it. Most people carrying this line have quietly concluded something about their own character that is not true — the circuit was never there to break.
What to do about it
Stop trying to want it more. Build the connection outside yourself: a deadline someone else holds, a person who is expecting it, a start so small it is embarrassing to refuse.

It crosses all three planes, so this arrow describes a circuit — something travelling from thought to feeling to action, or failing to.
